Byron Bay Lighthouse

Byron Bay lighthouse

If you head into Byron Bay for one thing then it should be a walk around the lighthouse. You’re almost guaranteed to see wildlife both in the ocean and on the land, on any one day you may see koalas, water dragons, bush turkeys, whales, dolphins, stingrays, sea turtles, echidna, monitor lizards and quite possibly all of them. Somehow, thank goodness despite the crowds, Byron’s non-human inhabitants have managed to stay and its very special to see them in their natural environment.  Add this to stunning vistas, white sand and glistening ocean framed by pandanas trees to complete the visual awesomeness.

There are various points at which you can park and access the loop trail to the lighthouse, and there is a car park right at the top for easy access. If you’re not up for walking far, the Captain Cook lookout, The Pass, and Wategos Beach all have parking that you can access the trail from.

Located 35 minutes drive, Lighthouse Road, Byron Bay.
